STONE SOUR dominates the Palace Theater!

STONE SOUR brought their Hydrograd Tour back to Minnesota this time on their own headlining run bringing along FROM ASHES TO NEW for the ride. Local rock band VERSION 5 won the opening slot and all 3 bands were high energy!

STONE SOUR could’ve easily taken a victory lap on this run as they were here last year with STEEL PANTHER. However, Panther was just in town at the Palace Theater and now it was STONE SOUR’s turn to whip this new venue in to shape. Opening with “Taipei Person / Allah Tea” and launching into “Do Me A Favor” and “Knievel Has Landed”. The band did not let up going straight for the throat with an easy standout from Hydrograd and even heavier live “Whiplash Pants”!

Letting the crowd take a breather with an great rendition of the Alice in Chains classic “Nutshell” before “Bother”. While earlier in the set than normal, it provided a great dynamic after the beginning of the set. This is definitely something STONE SOUR has always been great at. Great push and pull, up and down dynamics. You can bang your head and the next minute be singing along with the lighters in the air. See “30/30-150”, “Get Inside” and “Reborn” leading to “Song #3” and ending the main set with “Through Glass”.

STONE SOUR is a band that needs to be experienced live. Even better live than on record. Seeing them in a smaller venue just sweetens the experience.
